Good value
This replaced my 19 year old Craftsman 1/2 HP screwdrive opener. It literally shook my house when operating, and was LOUD.This Genie opener is super easy and straight forward to install. I did most of it myself, with another person assisting at times. Also surprisingly easy to program all the included remotes (2 fobs and keypad) as instructed.This Genie 7155 is super quiet, smooth, and is working great! I love that it has battery backup power. Would buy again.

I replaced a very old Genie multi-code screw drive with this unit.ProsGreat Paper and Online Instructions.Very quiet operations.Easy to mount. With the right ladders one person can install it.Setup of limits easy.ConsWiring provided for Sensors and Keypad too small. Difficult to split 2 conductor to strip back as needed.Still do not have wireless App working. Instructions are not clear. Do not appear to match unit.Overall – very happy with my purchase.

Okay not everything. It didn’t have a built in camera but reality sank in that I already had a garage camera so why did I need another camera?I moved in to a new house and the Craftsman opener sensors were not working reliably and I only had one opener.My last Opener at my previous residence was the Ryobi GDO. Loved it because it had all kinds of attachments that were truly useful. Didn’t care for the app because sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t.I was convinced I was going to buy a Chamberlain and found one with everything though it was a bit pricey but there were some little things I didn’t like after reading other’s review about the sensor design and other things.So I looked at Genie. The sensors are well designed. Solid actually, better than any I have ever had historically. The app works really well. The opener is super quiet. It took several days of greasing the garage door rollers (not related to the opener) so I could notice how quiet it actually was. The install was super simple and straightforward but most garage door openers are pretty easy to install, I’ve personally installed maybe 8-10 openers in my life. But they make it simpler (which I didn’t notice) by color coding the parts bags to the installation steps. Nice touch if you never installed a opener before as some parts can look similar.I installed LED bulbs and the backup battery option it came with was pretty easy to install. I really wanted a backup battery. It was an important requirement for me as it has come in handy several times in the past.The motor is plenty strong and the belt drive super quiet.It connected to my wifi very easily.I don’t use the remotes or the keypad because of Homelink and the phone app.I do like the big glowing (red) wall mount button as it’s difficult to miss or accidentally hit a different button. Simple is always better.Did I mention how solid the sensors are? With 4 kids and a dog, solid is good.

Extremely Quiet!
I purchased this opener to replace my 20 year old chain motor that shook the entire house every time it was opened or closed. Since owning it now for >1y can say that I’m very satisfied with the product but did encounter a pretty off-putting initial issue.Install:- Little bit daunting. Will require at least two people and at least two sets of ladders to safely reach/access parts and then safely lower/lift them up- All parts were included that I needed as I was able to re-use quite a few components- A crucial item that I recommend before installing/configuring the lift is to balance your garage door (either yourself or call a professional). This makes a huge difference in how hard your motor will need to work and the amount of noise it will make- Another crucial item is maintaining your other door parts. Buy quality spring lubricant and silicone based lubricant to all of the rollers/wheels/hinges and other parts. Taking the time to well lubricate these will contribute to a MUCH quieter garage door- Setting the limits is a little clunky. What I found is if I tried to inch towards where I wanted it, the motor would have trouble hitting the same spot. If I confidently held the button until it got where I wanted, it went a lot better.Support Horror Story:After a week or so the garage door would “forget” the open/close positions and only close/open partially or would open to far, slamming into the ground and then going back up. This would require me to reset the limits at least every other day.On contacting Genie Support my first/second time they tried to walk me through procedures to reset the opener entirely and reset the limits. As my issue was intermittent, it would take days before I would see the fix wasn’t working.After contacting Genie support for the third time, they required that I have a garage door servicing company come out to take a look at my door balancing/tension/other things. After the servicing company came out and looked over everything (leaving me with a nice bill), everything checked out and they left.On my fourth attempt with support, they acknowledged that there was a well-known issue with the model and the optical sensor needed to be replaced. They mailed me the part and an instruction booklet on how to completely dismantle the motherboard of my unit and replace this component. It was a lot more hands on of a support item than I’m used to dealing with for most things. After replacing the component, my opener worked perfectly. Really wished they’d led with this “well-known” issue before I spent a few hundred dollars having a servicing company come out.Day-to-day use:Now with the above issue resolved, I love this unit. It’s completely silent and I can barely hear it even when I’m directly over it. The battery backup was a huge benefit during power outages. Highly recommend the unit to anyone looking but be aware of the issue described above.

After many years of getting out of the car to open and close the garage manually I’ve decided to install the Genie Stealth garage door opener. Honestly, best money ever spent!I have a double garage wood door that is quite heavy so I decided to go with the stealth and it 1 1/4 hp.My ceilings are quite low and the clearance was literally millimeters for clearance. The install was quite easy and took approximately 2 hours to complete. The instructions on the BILT app was super helpful! Setting the travel limits and programming keypad/remotes was a breeze. Backup battery works well. Also, the Aladdin Connect app is easy to use and works great. I didn’t bother investing in the Genie “quiet light bulbs” and threw in the rough service incandescent bulbs from the dollar store.My only complaint with the unit was the wiring provided….they could have made the black wire a little more easier to identify. Anyhow, I’m just happy that my garage door works great and super quiet!!I’m hoping to have many years of good service with this unit and strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a more powerful lift at a decent price.

I installed it myself (Lew) and things went quite well. It is a very quiet working model. I was dissapointed to learn that the light bulbs were a special LED design. Ordinary LED light bulbs would cause an intereference with the remote signal. Why did I have to order the bulbs separately ??? Why couldn’t it have been included with the garage door opener ? The garage door opener was fairly expensive and could have included the 2 bulbs. Anyways I have registered the product with the manufacturer and hope it lasts a long time. The Craftsman garage door opener that was replaced by the Genie lasted me 30 yrs +. Thanks for the quick delivery.
