Working perfect on my SmartThings Hub (Update: but junk build so failed soon after)
Working perfect for me on my SmartThings network. Reports of delays, ignored presses etc are likely due to weak zwave mesh or other configuration issues. Taking one star off because price seems steep for a simple button.UPDATE:Reducing my rating to 1 star. These buttons are garbage. I have two of them and they worked OK when I initially set them up, then they started working randomly about 1 month later. Now 4 months later they don’t work at all. They send battery status and “Woke” events when I press the button but button pressed and button held events are never sent.I contacted fibaro support. They told me the buttons likely need to be replaced so I should ship them to Poland at my expense via DHL if I want replacements. Seriously, I have to pay to ship them to Poland when it is a defective device.DON’T BUY THESE!Fibaro: Take these off the market and replace with a better design!

They now pair easily with Vera Plus
I bought 3 of these 14 months ago and simply could not pair them with my brand new Vera Plus. All sorts of coding tricks on the web, I followed about 4 different tricks on the web involving scripts you load into Vera and some other urban legend approaches on the web. I am a programmer, so not to difficult to follow the advice (technical or not). After a week of headache, no good, would not pair, returned all 3. Now 14 months later with the same Vera Plus Controller (running the latest firmware of course: 1.7.3532) everything is so different! Fibaro is in the list of items to add, and pairing worked first attempt. Just follow the instructions – which include images of what to do, and Presto! Now I press the button once to turn my home theater lights on and twice to turn them off. Its all I wanted all along. Expensive, but so much more convenient than logging onto my phone, opening an app, drilling down to the scenes area and pressing ‘on’.

Could not get it to pair properly with my Vera Plus (1.7.4001). You can select it from the list of devices, however it would not pair cleanly. It would fail, but it would create a nameless device that fails when being configured. If you added it as a generic zwave device, it would add cleanly however it would fail on the configuration too. I gave up trying to pair it with my Vera Plus.I have a USB stick I use with my Home Assistant server. I could pair it without any problems. However after setting up my zwcfg xml’s COMMAND_CLASS_CENTRAL_SCENE, per HA’s docs, it would not send the correct values. Ended up just using the values it was sending, and it worked. I only do the single and double tap, which works. The double tap may take a few tries. There is either a problem or I don’t have the cadence down.At some point something changed with the button. Some Vera people say it has no problems, some people get stuck where I did. It might take a big of research to get them working. So if you are a plug-n-pray person, I might avoid this product.

After setting up the button I found it wasn’t very reliable. Most the time the first click would seemingly be completely ignored, meaning every time I wanted to trigger it I had to double tap it.Of course, seeing as the button is designed to detect the number of taps and allow different actions, and seeing that every once in a while it would properly detect the first click, it meant I could not set the button up to have different actions with different number of clicks, because there was no telling weather pressing the button 3 times would trigger the double click action or the triple click action…And of course, sometimes even multiple clicks would be ignored completely, meaning I would first have to click the button twice, wait several seconds, then click the button twice again to get the action to occur.All of this is now moot, however, as after 3 months or so the button is now completely bricked. I tried replacing the battery but it had no effect…

This ‘The Button’ seemed promising, for a simple, ergonomic, one-function switch, but I was disappointed after using it.It seems to go to sleep after an unspecified amount of time, and often the first button-press will not register. After a pause, the second usually does work. Setting it up as a double-press switch didn’t help either.And now, after 9 months of very little use (just used for maybe three months, near the bed, to switch on the stairs-light at 3am) the battery is done…Odd battery too. ER14250 – don’t want to invest in another battery just to exclude the switch from my system!If looking for a good simple switch, I can recommend the Zooz Zen34. It’s a standard decora-type rocker switch – still not what I really wanted – which would be a standard toggle switch (a decora doesn’t stick-out, making it not particularly easy to find in the dark) – but the Zen34 works very well (with excellent tech support!).

Great . . . When it Works!
I’m using with VeraPlus to Turn ON, Dim, and TURN OFF bedroom lights (one to three button presses). Worked great for about a year, then would wake up sometimes, or not at all no matter how many presses.I opened it up and swabbed the contacts with Caig Deoxit using a cotton swab, unpaired it and paired it again. Now it works like new! So, the built-in switch contacts are apparently not very reliable, and whatever you do, resist the temptation to push harder if the button fails to work, and then try cleaning the internal contacts
