They appreciate the smart thermostat that calibrates the temperature setting we set and AI does the rest. The product is reliable, sturdy, and well-designed. Overall, customers consider it a good value for the price.

Easiest App for Install
I have never installed something like a thermostat before. I have let this product sit in my cart for the last couple of months while I debated on if I was qualified enough for the daunting task of install. I wish I would’ve just purchased this a LONG time ago. And here is why….THE APP NOT ONLY TELLS YOU WHAT TO DO STEP BY STEP BUT IS INTERACTIVE!! I have NEVER had a product with such a user friendly (such an under rated term here) interface that tells you what to do BASED ON YOUR WIRING!!That’s right. You remove your old thermostat and tell the app which wires you see and it tells you what you need to do based on your specific situation. I will say I was very lucky and had the common wire and did NOT have to install the adaptor to my HVAC system. However, honestly the apps Instillation guide is so intuitive I’m sure that the extra step would have been easy enough. I know it may seem like I am rambling a bit. In this part of the review however, I want everyone to understand that the biggest reason for my hesitation was not the price of the unit but the installation process. I did not want to have to pay an additional fee for someone else to install. If I could possibly do it myself once I receive the product I had it installed within 15 minutes. The Ecobee Smart Thermostat is in itself, a wonderful and intuitive product. The product itself looks very elegant and doesn’t look like your typical hospitals style look. This looks futuristic and modern. I absolutely love how intuitive the sensor is like when you walk by the screen changing to show you a little bit more information. The software seems to know how to show you the right information to. When I want to look at the weather, it gives me just a glance at what is going on outside, which is wonderful and then I can expand it more to look into the future if I choose. The ecobee app is very user-friendly and easy to use as well. Setting up my thermostat through the ecobee app was super easy and quick.PRO TIP: Once the thermostat is installed, you can access the Apple QR code to connect your thermostat to your HomeKit ecosystem. The QR code is not the QR codes on the actual product cards inside the box.I really love the fact that this thermostat helps save on your heating bill by maximizing the heating and cooling of your HVAC system. But I was really impressed when during the install process, the software prompted me to enter my ZIP Code to show me who my local energy supplier was and allowed me to Request a rate decrease with the new install of the smart thermostat.I have not purchased any of the sensors yet, so I cannot contest to that ability of the software. However, I will be purchasing them in the future and will update my review accordingly.

I Love EcoBee, Most Functional Smart Thermostat IMO
At my old house I did a ton of research and ended up buying an EcoBee 2 although I originally was thinking Nest. Compared to my friends with Nest, I think EcoBee is much more functional and matches my needs better. I just moved and right away I bought 2 of the EcoBee 3 Lite (new house is 2 stories so I needed 2).First off, install is easy and they include everything you need with easy to follow instructions. They include a power booster attachment if you don’t have a C wire but for all 3 of these I’ve installed, I found my wire bundle had an unused wire so I just hooked up the C-wire and used that. It was really quick and easy and took maybe 10 minutes for the whole install. The thing that really pushed me towards EcoBee were the sensors. I’ve bought 4 room sensors and have them all over the house. Our thermostats area usually in a hallway but I care way more about the bedrooms we’re sleeping in, living areas we’re hanging out in, etc. Being able to average those in really improves the comfort level of the house. Using the “follow” function has been really useful allowing us to only average in occupied rooms to not over cool/heat for rooms that don’t matter. The app is easy to use and I have it hooked to Google Home as well. There are tons of settings I can nerd out on, tweak for my house, etc but also you can leave it with factory settings. Also, the HomeIQ is interesting to look at and try to improve our house’s performance.I’ve used these on a 2 stage A/C unit as well as a 2 unit house and it handled those nuances with ease and really simplified setting them up for me. I also got a rebate for installing these from both my Gas and Electricity company so I got $150 back making them cheaper than a standard thermostat. I’m also able to enroll in my electricity company’s Smart Energy program which gives me credit on my bill for letting them adjust my thermostat in high use times. From that alone I’ve gotten over $50 credit on bills so I’m already in the black with these purchases before I even look at energy saved for being able to program them better, set vacation times, adjust the tmp from my phone while not at home, etc.Overall, I love the smart thermostat and can never go back. I’m making money on them and the house is much more comfortable and efficient. You can go crazy with settings and nerd out or do a basic install and still see huge benefits. I much prefer the EcoBee over competition such as Nest and recommend it to anyone!

After researching and reading many reviews about this thermostat, decided to purchase from US Amazon. Surprising it worked very well in Australia. We had a very old analog thermostat (using mercury and springs) which replaced it with this Ecobee3 Lite. It made our air-conditioning system new and smart. The Apple HomeKit integration is much better than I expected. It has temperature sensor and humidity sensor. The smart schedule feature is very advanced and learning the current temperature to adjust the setting automatically. The Ecobee app is great and it receives regular updates.Love the bee flying animation on the screen at the beginning of the setup.Maybe it is a bug, but during the setup, when choosing Celsius as the display unit, it still uses Fahrenheit during one of the following steps: setting the comfort temperatures. After that, everything is Celsius.

Bought 2, both arrived in good condition although strangely in different manufacturing origin boxes, although in operation identical.Connected to HomeKit and both work flawlessly. They are connected to a mesh network and each to different access points. Have not had a single drop in 5 months of use.Only 1 speed of operation. But this was known from the specs. Connected to AC only, roof HVAC system.Works well, and plenty of customisation options through the web portal. HomeKit app is basic but functional.Recommended.
